PMCM employs a wide variety of safe and effective methods to both treat health problems and to balance the body. We also provide the latest in innovative health assessments beyond typical Western Medicine lab tests. These newer tests include:
- Vitamin and Mineral assays for nutritional adequacy;
- Food allergy tests for both immune (antibody) and cell reactions as well as intradermal (skin) allergy testing of foods and environmental agents;
- Gastrointestinal tests for evaluating digestion and microbial imbalances of bacteria, yeasts and parasites;
- Saliva and blood measurement of Hormone Levels;
- Other tests to look more deeply for problems as well as view the energetic and ionic balance in the body.
PMCM offers a multidisciplinary spectrum of healthcare services and products. Patients and practitioners work together to design choices and create options for the treatment of health problems. This differs markedly from "conventional" approaches, which may support one way of thinking and one system of medicine, in contrast to employing "traditional" integrative and preventive healing systems such as nutrition, body therapy and herbal and homeopathic medicines all within a family practice setting. PMCM is responsive to the desires and interests of its patients to provide needed services (See Services Page). We accommodate our growing number of practitioners who have become affiliated with PMCM to provide a variety of integrative and preventive therapeutic alternatives and our practitioners understand both allopathic and natural medical approaches.
PMCM is also the only "alternative" or "integrated" center in the North Bay Area that works within the insurance system, utilizing many of the common health plans, including Aetna, Blue Shield and Blue Cross, United Health Care, Medicare and others.

Preventive Medical Center of Marin (PMCM) is an integrated healthcare facility in San Rafael, California. PMCM has been at the same location since it was founded in 1984. The Center's office space has expanded over the years, in order to provide more room for our patients, to provide new services and to accommodate the growing number of practitioners who have become affiliated with PMCM.
